You can usually find the settings you are looking for in sounds and audio devices in the control pannel. Once you get there, you should find audio, and then make sure under the recording options, your line-in is checked. There should be a check box out beside it. You can still here the audio through your speakers, even if theat box in unchecked. Hope this helps!
