Hi Marty. Why not just give the Sam Encoders a try? I use it and think it works a hell of a lot better than shoutcast does. You can listen to my main menu review of it by going to,
http://www.acbradio.org/archives/mainmenu/mm1613.mp3
Give that a try and then download the sam encoders and give it a spin. one thing you are going to love about it is that it requires no dsp effects to be second in command, and it doesn't drop your volume level on your mic to 0 every time you connect. I love it.

Hi all, I'm still getting illegal operations messages after shutting
winamp down after shoutcasting, and don't know why this is. Here is

I wonder why this is happening, and what I can do to prevent it, plus,
I still find that after the shoutcast plugin is second in command, that
the shoutcast plugin comes up in the sys tray every time I close
winamp, so, when I close that instance of the shoutcast source, I alt
tab, and there's another instance of the shoutcast source plugin, so I
close that instance, so now, what happens is that when I close winamp,
the stream I am listening to doesn't close right away, but stays up for
a few seconds afterward, and I don't know what I did to cause this, and
that was the thing that caused me to go back to winamp 2.92 from winamp
5.01. This with window-eyes 4.5sp3, windows 98 se, winamp 5.03A, 192
megs of ram, and a 400 megs processor, with the shoutcast plugin
version 1.80. I don't think it ever did this when the what you hear,
and the advanced controls were checked with winamp. I wonder what is
going on.

Marty
