Hi Pete The little antenna that came with it is about 3 inches long, if that. I'm at work at the moment so don't have it here to measure. It's on a small magnetic base and the actual rod screws into what may be a loading coil though I'm not sure about that. When I received mine, the antenna was in its own little polythene bag. The coax is permenantly fixed to the antenna and there's about 2 meters of it with a coax plug on the end. Perhaps they found that in many instances the antenna wasn't all that efficient although it seems to work okay in the London area.
