would using this type of card be a way to avoide conflicts with Jaws and and when using sound editing programs. Perhaps a cheaper answer than an external synth like the Dectalk.

Greetings,
I'm in the market for a USB sound device and can not tell the difference between the Creative Labs extigy and audigy. The price and descriptions appear to be almost identical. Can someone advise which is newer or better? Is there another brand in the same basic price range I should look at?
Thanks. Geoff
