Ken and other interested persons, I too have the Victor Classic Plus with software version 2.3.56 and also find it plays 32 bit mono mp3 files.
Additionally, I was advised by Visuaide that the next software revision will include folder management capabilities. Therefore, the only thing which disappoints me about the Victor Classic Plus is that at present it will not play cds recorded using packet writing software such as Incd. Also, I wish that the software had a verbal indicator for the charge status of the battery. I am using the Victor Classic plus with firmware upgrade 2.3.56, and have no difficulty playing 32K bit mono files. In fact, as I stated before, I've even played 24K files.
