Susan, I'm using the Live 365 player because I understood that you had to 
use it if you were a paid subscriber.  In other words, if you use other 
players, you don't get the higher quality stream or the reduced 
interuptions. Do you know whether or not this is in fact the case? I do know 
that recording quality from TR was much better with Winamp.

I suspect that Dean is right and that changing the volume settings in 
Total
Recorder may help.  However, you might also try playing the stream through
Winamp rather than the Live 365 player, particularly if you've been
successful with Total Recorder and other streams.  I can't remember the
steps for changing players but it isn't that difficult.  hth.
