Hi Kris,

The books are in contracted or grade 2 braille.  That is why they read like 
jiberish in your word processor.  You have to use special software to 
translate the books into regular text.  There is some braille translation 
software that will do this that is available through the nfb for free.  You 
can probably find it at their web site.  The Kurzweil 1000 will also 
translate these books.  The Book Port will as well.
