Hi Katrina.

You shouldn't have any problems with those settings.  I rip using WMA
lossless format and have full use of this 512MB machine while the rip's in
progress.

You wouldn't use media player to rip a CD of MP3 files if the disc was
burned as a data disc so assume you mean MP3 files that have been converted
and burned to an audio CD?  If so, there will be no difference between that
and a prerecorded disc.

You may have noticed that there are settings in the ripping tab of media
player to rip a CD when inserted and eject when complete.  These are very
handy when ripping a number of CD's one after the other.

Another way of activating the rip is to use your JAWS cursor and issue a
left click on the "rip music" icon just below the menu bar at the top of the
screen.
