Actually I'd have to completely disagree here. I've been using Winamp since 1.6. In those days, the playlist was a standard, vanilla listview control, and the equalizer was much more accessible. Version 2 came out and took a lot of those standard controls away. This was before AOL bought them. Writing to Justin Frankle and the other Winamp guys basically got us a "there's a whole bunch of nothing we can do" back. It was only because of David Truong and Andrew hart who wrote the superb Winamp scripts for JAWS, and others who wrote sets for Window-eyes, that we got great access to that version. It was after Nullsoft was bought by AOL that they were forced by their corporate masters to start taking some notice. Indeed, when the issue with 5.2 came up on the Winamp forums, a senior developer wrote back within a very short time assuring us that it was not their intention to alienate blind users and they would see what they needed to do to fix it. In summary, Winamp people are much more responsive to the needs of blind people now that they're owned by AOL, than when Winamp was a product largely put together by a 19-year-old who really didn't care.

This is not the same Winamp group that we once knew. Winamp equals AOL and AOL is not always responsive to the needs of one given group of people. Like Nick, I only want the damn thing to be stable. Just my humble opinion, offered for whatever it's worth. Larry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nick G" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list.
