Andy are you using it to connect to a mixer, or ...
And do you have the optical cable?

Subject: USB Sound Card Recommendation

Hi all.

I'm looking for a recommendation of an external sound card.

I'm looking for an external sound card that can connect to my AV unit and
record from it using an Optical in socket. I'm also needing an Optical out
socket, so as to play files from my computer to my hi-fi. So it's important
that it has both Optical in and Optical out facilities. In addition, and
probably the most important, it should be accessible by screen readers, such
as JAWS.

At present, I have a Creative SoundBlaster, Live, 24 bit external sound
card. Unfortunately, although this does have an Optical out, it only has a
line in facility.

Any advise very welcomed.

Best wishes.
