Unfortunately, what I suspected is indeed the case. Let's say you want to delete a six-second section beginning at 5 minutes into your sound file. You set the markers, but want to preview to see what the finished product will sound like. If you use the unselected setting for either of the play controls, you will hear all the sound starting at the beginning, then finally skipping your selected six seconds and going on to the end. Not desirable, and a definite limitation of the program as far as I'm concerned. Of course I can work around it but don't like it a lot.
