Reed! I've always used the free CD Extractor / CDEX for ripping. If
you rip at 1411 KBPS you're getting no compression, that's as good as it
gets.
Most people will want some compression. It's a trade off between
storage space and quality. Storage space is inversely proportional to KBPS.
Double the KBPS and you cut the storage space required by half. I'm
generally happy with 128 KBPS and many people aren't satisfied with anything
under 190 KBPS.
