yes it had speakers that faced your body on each end of the radio, so it 
would still be possible to hear someone else wearing the unit.  I think at 
the time it really was a gimmick.  I'd never seen anything more about 
similar technologies to do this so don't know anything about anything that 
might be newer.  I assume anything would work in the same fashion as the 
bone phone.

When I first heard of the bone phone, I heard that the sound is conducted
through your shoulders.  I tried one, and it's something you put around your
shoulders, but it seemed like there was no privacy, because I could hear
someone else wearing them!
