Ah yes, 35 years ago then something Sharp was valued, I know people who had Sharp products back then but the same applies for other company's too. It wasn't all that long ago that if you bought "A Sony" something then you had something special in your hand but now? Well Sony just hands out licences for people to build stuff on there behalf and the quality isn't highly regarded any more. Having said all that though, Panasonic were (at least here in Australia when they were known as National Panasonic) were something to be avoided at all costs, like most other people Panasonic have realised that people (most people) want quality goods, there are some brands or company's that just survive on selling cheap stuff and that's where they make their money, you can't tell me that a $40.00 DVD player is going to be a good quality machine, just too many corners cut to get the machine manufactured and sold at a price like that.
