Kathy This may seen too obvious to ask, but did you move some of the files back to the main hd and see how they play now. If they still stutter, then the problem won't lie with the secondary hard drive. If they don't stutter, this would confirm the initial diagnosis. Is this secondary drive a 7200 rpm drive -- I am referring to the speed at which it spins. If it is slower, than this might account for the choppy streaming.
