Hi Norma. You assume correctly my friend, it is 11. I was playing around
with WMP last night to see if I could rectify things and ended up making
things much worse. Firstly, it was when I launched WMp and then did an
alt/T to take me to the tools menu. I didn't get any of the expected menu
options nor could I access the tabs but instead I was locked into the file
menu. This happened whether I did an Alt/V for view or an Alt/T for tools,
only the file menu showed up. After that the next problem came when again I
launched WMP, I was immediately directed to the online store and landed on
the silverlite link (don't know what that is). I was though able to after a
while access the proper tools menu. The strange thing is, just as I was
wearying of resolving the problem that night and was about to shut down I
played a music file and I wasn't then taken to the on line store; curious I
thought as I hadn't done anything consciously to change things). I then
exited that file and WMP and then launched it once more. This time I wasn't
sent to the online store and I was able to access the tools menu and tabs.
I decided at this point to close down and allow any new settings to be
saved. This morning, about 10 minutes ago (just before starting this reply
I launched WMP once more and it seems to be fine although it is responding
very slowly but maybe pick up it's response speed once the PC has warmed up.
I really don't know what caused this problem but it started just after I
installed DVD Audio Extractor and then did a test rip and then played the
ripped file. I am apprehensive as I fear if I don't discover what the
problem is, it will reoccur at some time in the future without warning.
Walter.

Hi Walter, just so we're on the same page here, what version of WMP
are you using? I'm assuming 11, but want to make sure. Thanks, Norma
