Arthur, I also have the pro version of Sound Taxi, and as far as I can tell, the only extra conversion speed you get is if you are converting more than one file at a time. Converting more than one file simultaneously does seem to be slightly faster than would be converting them serially one after the other. So, in converting a single file, the Pro version won't perform faster than the Platinum version. The claim for faster conversion on the Sound Taxi web site does not go out of its way to make this distinction clear, as I learned after I bought the Pro version.
