Thanks John. It's just that it would be so grate, if we could share any available methods of solving our computer difficulties.

High Vicky,
No, he was one of my instructors at the MTTL building in Daytona Beach which is where I learned about Windows in their early years.
The cost to me, was free of charge.
My best regards.
 John.

Hi, Was this Florida person, a personal friend of yours? If not, how did you find him and wouldn't it cost quite a bit to get a regular programmer to learn Jaws script and write it for you?

That's something quite out of my computer person's knowledge and my finances

. Please everyone, share your solutions, work arounds or known resources!

High all list members,
In the world of electronics, there is no such word as the word can't.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
I had an old computer that had an old M AUDIO sound card in it.
I couldn't get at the tone controls for the world using Jaws 6.1.
But I found a work around, I got someone in Daytona Beach Florida, to write scrip's for me to make the sound card do what I wanted it to do. The same principle very well, could be applied to the Creative Lab sound cards. Yes I agree the manufacturers should listen to the people that use their products, but that doesn't always happen. This is why we have to be faithful for the people that are smart enough to find work arounds for us to use.
Try looking for a suitable solution before you give upon the problem.
My best regards to you all!
 John.

Ah but the real question is do they work or are we just settling? Is our
money somehow less good than anybody elses?

dave, i think you are going about this the wrong way, just because you have had trouble with creative products doesn't mean that you should try and
get others to switch away from something that works for them.
while the advancec controls aren't accessible to you at this time depending

on which screen reader you use maybe scripts could be made for the parts of

the creative product you have.
anyone want to comment on that one.
not trying to start an arguement but just pointing out something.

No, I have not made any progress. I unloaded all things soundblaster and Creative and still the card works, apparently using windows generic drivers. Yet I still can't get access to the advanced controls. Pam sent an email from the web page on my behalf and of course there was no contact so today I
googled and found an Oklahoma City phone number where I got absolutely
nowhere. I did get the corporate office phone number in the san Jose area,
but got no answer from their operator in spite of being on the phone
listening to it ring for probably half an hour. So I just started punching in extentions until I got an answer, someone named Breanna. I expressed my
concdern about a whole population being shut out of the Creative Labs
product. Will I get a return call? Probably not. Clearly, this is a
company that does not deserve our patronage. Please reconsider if you are
thinking about buying Creative Labs.
