Subject: Dynamic audio software for Mac and a little for Windows and Iphone

Hi!

I'm browsing through the company's news letter http://www.rogueamoeba.com/ so bare with me whilst I talk about some of the amazing products this company make, probably the most famous one of all is Audio Hijack Pro, this application allows you to "hijack" any audio source on your Mac whether that be applications such as Skype, DVD Player, Itunes or Safari playing radio streams. Once the audio is "Hijacked" you can "Record" the output to a file, the source can include physical audio devices as well such as sound cards and devices, USB radio sets such as the Audio Shark etc. You can "Schedule" these sources so that recording is activated and deactivated at certain times and much much much more.

Fission is a small but yet simple and easy to use audio editor which can be integrated into Audio Hijack Pro's operation. For example, made a recording and wish to give it a trim? Press the "Edit" button in the Audio Hijack Pro application and the recording is loaded into Fission or any other audio editor for the Mac you set through Audio Hijack Pro's preferences.

Nicecast is the application that makes broadcasting over the Internet a snap and - like Audio Hijack Pro - it "hijacks" both applications and physical sound sources, they're then streamed using a variety of methods including the widely used "shoutcast" so you can be up and broadcasting to the world with just one simple keystroke right out of the box as it were.

airfoil for Windows and Mac is the great way to stream audio/video from one computer to an Airport Express or another computer, iphone or device using Airfoil Speakers, this companion application turns the computer into a remote pair of speakers. Like the products mentioned above, Airfoil "Hijacks" physical sound devices and other audio applications running and streams the audio to the target device.

And finally, we have the best product yet I reckon from this company so let me quote you a small portion of the newsletter to put you in the picture regarding Radio Shift, this application allows you to search through thousands of radio stations on the Internet and associated programmes through a regularly updated programme guide database. Find something you think you'll like? Just set Radio Shift to "handle" it and the programme will be ready to play, even if it started playing 5 minutes ago you'll be able to hear it all in its entirety from and you can pause the audio whilst having a cup of tea letting Radio Shift take care of what remains to be recorded, anyway on with the quotation.

1. Radioshift 1.5 Is Here!

Late last month, we released a major update to Radioshift, our internet radio player and recorder. This free update focused on improving many different aspects of Radioshift.

To start, Radioshift now supports 1000s of new streams which were previously only available via web-based players, including some of the worldâ•˙s most popular streaming stations.

Weâ•˙ve also worked to improve Radioshiftâ•˙s reliability. With version 1.5, when errors are detected with a stream, Radioshift will attempt to get the stream playing again by restarting it. It will also attempt to load backup streams when they're available. Even with less reliable streams, Radioshift will be working to make sure you get your audio, automatically.

There are plenty of other updates in Radioshift 1.5, from an improved interface to support for transmitting its audio via Airfoil╉and much more! Best of all, all of this is entirely free for owners of Radioshift. So if you already use Radioshift and you're on Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, get it now.
