Dan,

Go into the record dialog with control+r.

shift tab until you get to a combo box called "method".

It should be set to normal.

Do not set it to one of the automatic settings because one of those will
automatically end recording after a fixed time which, in your case, was 10
minutes. However, it is a useful function if you are doing something like
unattended recording from a cassette and you want the recording to finish
after 45 minutes.

Hope this helps

Bob Nelson

Subject: soundforge recording question for conferences

Hi All, Yesterday I attempted to use Sound Forge 9.1 on an hp laptop using
win-xp to record a phone conference. The recording stopped after around 5
or ten minutes. The meeting was around 1.5 hours. I didn't know this until
checking after the mmetting was over.
I fortunatly had a victor stream as backup.

The steps I used for recording were.
1. Press control plus r.
2. Press alt plus r to start recording.
3. Press escape to stop the recording.
4. Pressed the spacebar to listen to the recording and only 5 to ten
minutes was there.

What is the maximum for recording with Soundforge and what did I do wrong?
We would actually like to use this process for recording in the future.
Thanks for any help in advance.
