do you usually have it fill up the offsets with selient parts or what do you usually do?

EAC definitely does the best job of ripping cds at bit-perfect, i.e. a true exact copy, of any ripper I've tried. Mp3 of course by definition isn't perfect because it compresses out some data in addition to whatever other flaws are found in the cd itself.
