I assume your screen reader is still pumping out sound. What about your
media player? Any trouble with that? I wonder if your default audio
output device got changed somehow. Am I reading your message correctly;
are you running Windows XP SP3? Do you have an on board sound card in
addition to your Soundblaster card?

That's kind of an odd one but when your in the sounds under control panel
and you play the sound does it play? If not press the browse button and
locate the sound you need. These are usually found under Windows Multi
Media. Once you've reset the sound check it again to make sure it's playing
then apply the changes once the sounds are all working and save your
scheme. You can give it any name you want such as djc's sounds. Hopefully
this will resolve this issue for you.

Hi Guys and Gals,
A strange thing happened a while ago, I lost my windows sounds, you
know the one that sounds when windows turns off and when it
starts. Plus some others including the sound you get when a piece of
hardward is accidentally disconnected and a few others. I have all
volumes turned on and nothing muted. If I look at the list of sounds
they are all there and set for on. I am using windows, xp 3 and an
SB live sound card. This all of a sudden showed up a few months ago
and it really baffles me. I sure miss those sounds, anybody have any
ideas?
Thanks for any info.
