Dane,

The point you are missing here is that I have heard a pair of speakers which
meet my requirements in full. They have an adequate
amount of output volume and a sufficient amount of base. Unfortunately, they
don't appear to be available still. They are a little
more expensive than others I have seen (around $35) but that is not an issue
for me. I have heard 3 other sets of USB speakers and
the Rock 302g are streets ahead of the rest. If anyone can tell me where I can
still buy them, I would be most grateful.

Unfortunately I can't demonstrate them so you can judge for yourself.

Thanks,
Barry Chapman

Yep, thank you for underscoring the point I've been trying to make, any good
USB speakers - I think the one's I spoke of earlier are
Bose - need that extra power from the wall.

Having said all that though it may be that some new speaker models out there
use digital amps, that being the case then USB power
may suffice but I'd imagine they'd be quite expensive.
