If its the pair I'm thinking of then they are "Power Assisted" meaning that they plug into an AC outlet, as I recall Barry wanted something which was powered entirely from the USB port, the Logitech LS150 speakers are such a kind, not much amplification but then again! not much power can be had from a USB port.
