Greetings, I cannot undersstand why people have problems with TR picking up system events.
Obviously, with two sound cards, assign **all** system events, such as Jaws, notification of mail, any other system sounds to one card and the sounds you want to the other, then if using GoldWave, soundforge, TotalRecorder, audacity, .... recording from the net / line in / microphone / .... these can be assigned to the other card. I have TR V8.2PRO, I only have the virtual driver loaded and to date, have **never** had any problems with system events getting onto my recordings. I do not have problems with line in / microphone recordings, though I tend to use TR in it's simplest way, prefering to carry out any edits in GoldWave as I find this much easier. I would prefer not to mix microphone into a live stream, so the problem does not arise with me using TR. If I remember rightly, when installing TR, it keeps your current settings, if there is a way of changing these whilst installing, I cannot remember seeing it hence, my next comment assumes a new installation. I believe early during the installation, you can choose which drivers to load, I think all three are checked by default, all you need do, therefore, is uncheck the ones other than the virtual driver, job completed, for if I remember rightly, it will pick up your settings, licence and username details. >From Colin Howard, who lives in Fareham on the coast of Central Southern England.
