Back when I used mine, I used it with a JBL On Tour speaker than ran on
tripple a's. I don't think they make that thing any more, but there are
probably others like it. It also came with a wall plug you could optionally
use if you didn't want to deal with recharging tripple A's.

Many manufacturers offer small speaker units now.
