One instance is you don't need to use the audio repeater if you wanted to record directly from the vac cable. E.G. You set audio player to output to vac cable, then in say total recorder you can choose to record from the vac cable . As mentioned, it's not rocket science. The limit on how to use this thing is your imagination. Also, the stuttering does not happen if you set it up properly like adjusting buffers etc. There is a userguide on how to do all this believe it or not. The Vac cable is essentially a virtual sound card and in most audio based programs it is seen as just another sound device.
