My particular model which is now a few years old is 7.1 channel.

Although I haven't verified personally, I've also heard reports that some of the Pioneer receivers also have web based configuration but no idea on which models. The model descriptions will usually mention this as one of the features.

That's just way cool man. It's totally accessable! Is this a multichannel
thing though?

with WiFi Adapter

Jim,

Check out the Denon AVR series of receivers. I have an AVR3311 and have
total access to it via it's browser interface. You just point your browser
to the receiver's IP address. I also use an app on my iPhone called Denon
Remote App but no idea if there's an Android version of it.
HTH.

If there is a receiver out there that is accessible from android app
and or pc web browser I'm interested in learning about it.

Thanks.
