Hi all, I want to thank everyone who has offered some input on my search for a good flatbed scanner.
Unless someone has a serious concern about it, I think I am setteling on the Opticbook 3800 for my scanning needs. It's a little pricey, but it's a bookedge scanner and I will primarily be scanning a lot of books here. In case I didn't mention it, I will be using OpenBook 9 on a 32 bit Win 7 machine for my OCR results. The reason I said I needed a good and accurate flatbed scanner, is because I don't have anyone at this time to proofread my scanned books. So image quality is of corse very important. Thanks again all, and please pipe up if you feel I'm making a big mistake on this one.
