I'd like some help with recording from my turntable

Hi friends, Randy here...I'd like to bother you guys for a little 
help, if I may?
You remember a while back...i was trying to connect my usb turntable to record?
I have just recently gotten a stereo cable that has two connections 
and another one.....I am trying to find out where the line-in or 
whatever is so I can equalice the volume...Nothing shows up!.
Can I ask for help?
