Hi. strictly speaking no, not in the file itself. A 128kbs quality file will always be a 128kbs quality file. You can downgrade from 128kbs but if you do that, you will never get a 128kbs quality again for that file. However what you can do is improve the quality of the reproduction in playback. If you play your music on the PC via a hi-fi system, you can dramatically improve the quality of the sound by using a DAC but they can be expensive, depending on just how much you are willing to pay for better quality. I always play my music from the PC through a DAC as it makes a huge difference. Walter.
