Sunday, October 20
------------------
A cold front passed through overnight, which left us with chilly
temperatures, sunny skies and Northwesterly 10-15 knot breeze for
Sunday's racing, nearly perfect for the fall in Annapolis. PRO Assad
and his team of Midshipmen got the trapezoid course set quickly in the
Severn River right off the Robert Crown Center and racing began with D
division. Despite a number of breakdowns, primarily an A and D
divisions that slowed things down a bit, we carried through without a
lunch break to finish up all 80 races for the regatta by 1400. Judges
Morin, Elliot and Clinnin were on hand again to award three breakdown
requests and hear one protest, which was disallowed. Unfortunately,
due to an error with the scoring program accepting the scores for the
last few races, the competitors were sent home before we could hand
out the trophies, but we plan on delivering them to the deserving
winners later this fall. Congratulations to the Georgetown Hoyas for
winning the 2013 Navy Fall Interconference Regatta.
