A thick marine layer arrived with the sailors Sunday morning. The wind
would start to fill in and then die off so the decision was made to
hold the fleet on shore for a brief delay.
By 1045 the group was departing the dock for the course. The wind was
shifty and struggled to fill on the course until about 1345. Five
races were sailed, some single lap windward leewards, others double
lap windward leewards. The whole time the top four boats stayed very
close together making for some exciting racing.
Congratulations to Stanford's Oliver Toole and UCSB's Stephen Long for
qualifying for the nationals in Rhode Island!
