Stanford is excited to host both the Singlehanded conference championships and
the Women's PCC's this weekend in Redwood City.
Information Needed!
1. We need to know ASAP who will be coming to all the regattas. Please email
me with Your Sailors names and Laser sail #'s for the weekend. Also please
email me to confirm that you will have a team at women's PCC's. All three
regattas will be finalized by 5pm Thursday. No additional teams will be
allowed in the regattas so please don't show up the day of. Email me by
Thursday 5pm!
2. Please also email me if a coach is coming to any of the regattas so I can
plan for coach boats. All coaches will be on the water this weekend. Also if
you will have alternates this weekend for women's PCC's so I can plan.
Information for You:
1. The plan is to do 100% of the racing in our outside venue. We will use the
inside venue as backup. Our ability to sail outside is dependent on the tide
we need to be within 3-4 hours of high to make it work. Here are this weekends
High tides: Friday 1:26pm, Saturday 2:06pm and Sunday 2:49pm. As you can see
we can get some quality racing each afternoon.
2. Format: Women's Singles: Our plan is to get as many races as we can in by
4:30pm on Friday. If we do not get 6 races in by 4:30 we will sail to 6 Races.
Men's Singles and Women's PCC's: Our plan is to sail
till 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. Most likely we will be starting racing
around 11:30-12:00pm each day my goal is to do 4 hours of sailing each day so
if we have done 4 hours of sailing on saturday and it is before 5pm we will go
in early. We do not have bathrooms out on the water so I don't want to do more
then 4 hours. I believe this will give us 6 races each day. I will of course
keep you posted as the day goes on. On Sunday 4pm is the absolute deadline, do
not ask to sail longer it will not happen.
3. Arrival: When you arrive with lasers please go to the public ramp on the
map- please show up at 9:30am getting there earlier does not help you. There
will be someone there who will help guide you to where to park and where to put
your trailer if you have one. We are able to use this nice ramp because to
port likes us please help us keep it that way. Please park where we till you
and please pick up your trash. There are bathrooms that are big enough to
change in at the port. We will use just one side of the ramp as we need to
keep the other side open for fisherman. All lasers will be kept by the ramp
and will be secure as there is a patrol and cameras.
4. Competitors meeting: Friday the competitors meeting will be at the Boat
ramp. Saturday and Sunday the competitors meeting will be at the Stanford
Boathouse (Sorry Guys). We are doing this for the women's PCC's so guys there
are fewer of you so if you could drive to the boathouse for a quick meeting we
would appreciate it.
5. Rule 42: Friday Danielle Richards will be doing appendix P as changed by
the ICSA procedural rules for Women's Singles. Saturday and Sunday: Mike Gross
and Jesse Kirkland will be doing Rule 42 for the Men's singles. All three have
lots of experience and are great to work with.
6. Food and water: We will have water jugs on the coach boat for everyone to
refill water bottles. Everyone can keep food on the coach boat even if you do
not have a coach there we will help you out.
7. Course: The course we are planning to run is the "Navy Trap". This course
will be modified so the finish will be upwind.
8. Tech Score will be setup on thursday night so you can plug in all your
players throughout the weekend.
Any Questions please let me know!
