Dear ICSA sailors, coaches, student leaders, and team administrators, This is a very important message about the All-Academic team that will directly effect any sailors on your team who will be considered for the team.
Starting this Fall, techscore will be the only record used to determine participation at an ICSA event. So, in practical terms, alternates who attend but don't actually sail will only get credit for attending the event if they are entered in the RP form as "reserve". Here are the steps to enter someone as a reserve: 1) Load your team's RP page for the regatta, just like you would to modify your A or B division participants. 2) In the "Reserves" area toward the bottom of the page, highlight the sailors you wish to enter as reserves (you can highlight multiple sailors by holding the "shift" key while selecting the additional sailors. 3)Then, click the arrow key above the sailor selection area to move them into the "reserves" area. 4) Finally, click the "submit form" button to save your changes. It's a great idea to do this when you enter your starting team at the beginning of the event. If the sailor later races, they will be removed from the reserves area. If they aren't in the RP, they won't get credit for attending the regatta. This is part of an effort to decrease the time it takes to verify the participation records of the hundreds of nominees.
