There seems to be some confusion as to the membership category designation means. The label in this category is based off of the information provided by each conference in their annual membership report submitted each spring. The label in that category not only relates to how your conference/team was billed for each school but also designates what events that team is eligible for this fall.
*Regular members *are eligible to sail in all regattas subject to qualification standards set by their conference (ie you are eligible for nationals but you still have to qualify for nationals). *Provisional members* are eligible to sail in all regattas subject to qualification standards set by their conference (ie you are eligible for nationals but you still have to qualify for nationals). Conferences may set further restrictions on their eligibility for Conference Championships. *Associate members* are eligible to sail in all regattas except events that qualify a team for a national championship (typically a Conference Championship) and any National Championships. Conferences may set further restrictions on their eligibility for participation in regattas. *Inactive members* may be invited to sail at events within their conference. Conferences may set requirements that they must fulfil prior to participation. They cannot sail out of conference and they cannot sail in any championships. If you want to apply to change your membership category contact your Conference Commissioner and they can assist you in completing the necessary steps. -- Danielle M.
