Hi
 I have a Starmax 3000 and an 8600/300 connected to a FR3400 Asante router
to share Roadrunner's cable modem. We had a power loss for about 6 hours,
and the router has never been the same since. It will assign IPs quite
properly to the machines, it will self-test OK, it will connect at normal
speeds, and then, at unspecified intervals, it will slow down to an absolute
crawl. (I immediately bypassed it and connected directly, and Roadrunner was
running at a proper speed). I can access the Asante setup, I have downloaded
and installed the latest drivers. Is the router damaged? Is there something
I am not seeing? Is it possible for the router to be damaged and still
operate properly as far as connecting, assigning IPs, and all that? It will
do this regardless of whether one of the two computers is completely turned
off. I am just trying to gather opinions before I call them and ask for a
replacement. (There are two surge suppressors between the router and the
main electrical box).
Thanks for any advice.
Kim
