Chuck Goolsbee, one of the ANS' testers (who owns the only real, live
rackmount ANS 300, serving applefritter.com) does remember when the ANSes
were demoed, Apple sent a real mixed message to buyers by showing off a
version of MacOS hacked for the internal FW/SCSI and Cirrus Logic video.
Very typical of Apple at the time.
