You have to use 2k refresh; the 7500 can take 4k and less. 2k is
always more expensive. Usually, when they advertise the 168DIMMs,
it's the 4k.

NO 8.1 is not public domain. Here you are going to get different
points of view. I personally found 8.6 a tad sluggish on my 6360 and
thought 8.1 work a little snappier. I had 8.1 and 8.6 on 2 different
partitions and kept bouncing back and forth. But if you don't mind,
you will need more memory to run 8.6. It's all in how you look at it
I guess. 8.6 has some nice features. I didn't run 8.6 mainly till I
got a G3 300mhz/512 cache sonnet card which work very nice but I
recommend the 1mb cache card.

It depends if you use something like Silverlining or FWB, you would
but your later versions of drive setup, will intialize just about
anything.
