Hi Folks,
I'm new here so I apologize in advance for dumb questions.
I've got a 5400/160. No such thing you say? Well, it started off as a
5260/120.
What with the 32 bit bus I put in a logicboard from a 6360. The system
profiler
now says it is a 5400/160. Who am I to argue?
Well, to my question; I'm thinking of putting my OS on a RAM disc for
speed purposes.
I'm running OS8.6, taking around 26 MB RAM. I've got 136 MB altogether
so it looks like
I have the space. Is there an application out there which would
automatically put my OS in
RAM when I start up my Mac? Since I do have lots of RAM what would be
really cool
would be if this app would not only put my OS in RAM but when I ran any
other app it
would ask if I wanted to put it in the RAM disc too.
This is all new stuff to me so I'm not even sure I'm asking the right
questions.
I'm also interested in doing this with some powerbooks but I'll ask over
on that list.
Thanks everybody,
Anand
