Okay.
In the 4400 case the PCI bridge, which comes out of the motherboard, has
both of the PCI regular slots and the Special PCI slot called a Comm II slot
which only takes modems, ethernet and I do believe PC-Dos cards and that is
the closest to the motherboard and would be considered three.
So slot one would be at the top, furtherest from the motherboard and two in
the middle with Comm II on the bottom. As for CPU accelerators, the 4400 is
a funny animal.. You install the accelerator in the Rom Cache slot, where
the Rom cache used to be and it shuts down the OEM processor and replaces it
with the G3 processor running everything through the Rom Cache.
I currently have my ATI video card in slot 2 and my firewire/usb card in one
with ethernet in my Comm slot II.
