Had this too about a year ago. Then I read in an article that a HD only will
work well if only filled for 75% - 85% (dep. of manuf.). Well, for me this
was a new point of view, so I tried this:
HD: 1,1GB, 980MB used.
Back'd up 170MB and removed this.
HD worked fine now and could open every file.
Don't ask me why. I just reported what I found out.
Later I found another article, telling this is only true if there is
installed any boot-up system on the HD involved. Didn't check this till now.
