I just had my second Yamaha CD burner die and have begun to
wonder about the quality of these devices. You can buy them OEM for
not much over $150. on the web but the first one I bought didn't last
a year and the second one lasted just over a year. And Yamaha won't
replace them after a year.
The problem goes beyond the Yamaha. In both cases I went
through a week or two of hell with a malfunctioning computer until I
figured out the Yamaha was the culprit. If you remember my earlier
posts about installing an XLR8 G3/500 processor upgrade in a
9600/200, I was struggling with an unstable computer. Well, some
helpful person on this list suggested I remove the Yamaha. When I
did the computer worked fine again.
Anyone else having this kind of dismal luck with Yamaha's?
Or, better still, I have paid out money for my last Yamaha, can
anyone recommend a better brand?
Thanks,
