Hi listers I need your advice and experience since I've got no
experience myself with Performas so maybe you guys and girls can help me
:-)
A girl friend of mine has a Performa 5300. She has 48 MB installed @ the
moment and she wants to upgrade the RAM to 64 MB. Indeed according to
Apple Spec Online and MacTracker this Performa has a maximum of RAM of
64 MB. Thus two 72 pin SIMMs of 32 MB.
But has anyone been able to install larger SIMMs in the 5200/5300
series? Is it possible?
Also I noticed in the specs that it has an LC slot. What kind of slot is
this?
And she wants to Ethernet this Mac, but it has no built-in card, should
she buy an Ethernet COM slot card and is this COM I or COM II?
Final question, she says that her 5300 is running @ 94 Mhz instead of
100 Mhz. Is this normal?
