Ray, You don't have a hardware problem here. The "problem" is that third-party CD-ROM drives don't automatically work with Apple's CD-ROM drivers. You need to find a copy of FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit, InTech's CD SpeedTools, or some such. OR, if you can find a System 7.6 disk, the Apple CD-ROM extension (v5.3.1) works just fine with most drives. -- Gene, a.k.a.
