Hiya list. I've been lurking for a while, and finally, I've come to a
problem I can't seem to dig up resources to fix. I have an 8600/250 604e
PPC, 352MB RAM, onboard video, and all the standards that came with this
machine. About a month ago, I was given an Obsidian2 X-24 PCI video board.
I stuck the card in my Mac and loaded some third party 3dfx drivers for it.
I never could get it working. It would show in my control strip and Monitors
control panel as me having my primary onboard video, and then a TV card. So
I took the card out. When I booted my Mac back up, it still thought I had my
onboard video and the Obsidian2 card in there. I zapped the PRAM, pressed
the CUDA switch, deleted monitor preferences etc. I eventually had to take
the battery out of my motherboard over night to get it to realize I only had
onboard video. It worked fine for a while. I just installed OS9.1 and OS X
on to two partitions. And here's the kicker, 9.1 thinks I have two monitors
again! Same deal with onboard video, and then a TV card. Can anyone help me
with this problem? I can pull the battery and fix it, but I'd like to know
what is causing the problem in the first place. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Jenn
