I got a "7600/200", and when it got here, the case said 7600/120 . I checked
out apple system profiler and it said it was a 604e 200mhz. So I said, okay,
they probably just switched the cover...although after a while I began to
wonder. So I e-mailed the seller asking him why it said what it did and he
said that it was the computer's original case and the machine was upgraded
with the 604e processor a few years ago. Now, the main reason I got this
machine is because of the 50mhz bus. (A 10x Zif can run at up to 500mhz)
But the 7600/120 has a 40mhz bus. Now I've recently decided that I want to
spend as little as possible upgrading this machine (only what I need to get
by while I save up for my B&W) so IF I upgrade the processor it will only be
to around 300 oe 333mhz...so...should I raise a stink? I paid 180 dollars
for the machine, (keyboard and mouse) a scanner, software bundle and a few
cables...??
I'm not sure if I should say anything or not, I went back to the original
auction page and it distinctly advertised a 7600 with a 200mhz 604e processor
(now I know to ask exactly which machine it is before I pay), no upgrades
were mentioned.
