Yesterday's odd Mac behaviour: my 7300+G3/500 would not shut down. Even pressing the power switch on the front just made it reboot. The culprit turned out not to be the power supply or hardware fault (whew!), but the new powered USB hub I bought. When I pulled the power plug from the hub, and let the hub run off the USB's power instead, the 7300 stayed off and the hub still works. This is a new one on me. Defective hub or defective USB card, or just one of those freaky things? The hub is a "Taiwanese special" 4-port generic USB 1.1 hub, and the 7300's USB card is an ADS 2-port "Import cheapo". -- ----------------------------- personal page: http://www.armory.com/~spectre/ -- Cameron Kaiser, Point Loma Nazarene University * [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Burglar alarms: For the man who has everything! ---------------------------- -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
