Linda,

You might try checking the memory allocated to the programs. These both
seem to respond to more memory. Also, these programs both use disk
cache. You should check that these are set properly. They may be
searching for cache locations that don't exist anymore.

If still no luck, then do the universal fix of rebuilding the desktop
and deleting finder preferences and program preferences (caveat here;
netscape keeps its preferences in different places and you may find that
you delete your connection information. So do this as a last resort).
