Two things, first try asking on the StarMax List. However, your
problem could be one I've seen before. On the StarMax computers
their IDE set-up is a little flaky. You can only have one device
connected to each IDE connector. Also, if you install an ATA-66 or
-100 drive, you MUST use an ATA-66 cable correctly connected. If
you don't you will see the boot hang with the drive spinning up and
back down. However, I seem to remember that at least the screen was
set to the standard grey screen, but without the Happy/Sad mac. I
could be wrong, as it has been a while.
